His Church

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. ~Acts 2:42-47

Jesus desires a church that is discipling one another. This means we are called to encourage one another in real and relevant discussions on the big issues of life and learn what the Bible has to teach on those subjects. As we grow in that knowledge, much like the Disciples, Jesus calls us to live out those life lessons in practical and meaningful ways. This is why at Canyon Creek we emphasize both growing in the knowledge of the gospel as well as living the gospel out in our daily lives.

Furthermore, we believe that church is made up of Small Groups of people gathering together sharing life. Small Groups forms an intrigal part of our strategy to care for one another like the early church cared for one another. Small Groups grow through the study of Scripture, sharing of testimony, cooking a meal, and praying for one another. To really be a part of Canyon Creek it is strongly encouraged to join a Small Group.
